A Launcher was a large gun that was used by WCKD guards. It shot a grenade which produces electricity capable of disabling someone for quite some time; even though it didn't kill them, it electrocuted them into unconsciousness, causing a great deal of pain along the way. The ammunition itself appeared to be what seemed like small, metallic spheres with crackles of electricity surrounding it. The gun itself was rather bulky and heavy, preventing guards from carrying many other weapons along with it.
There also seemed to be another kind of Launcher used by Jorge during The Death Cure which fired grenades that exploded with fire instead of electricity.
In the Films, this gun was described as a Kel-Tec KSG shotgun firing round slugs of taser shells selectively lethal or non-lethal.
In the Death Cure film, Thomas, Newt, and Gally carry Launchers while going undercover as WCKD soldiers.
